Hello,
I want to run a programm on cortex A57 in 64 bit mode to count inctructions. Maybe on the Demo_Linux_ARMv8-A-FM example.
Is OPV_SIM 64 bit (C:\Imperas\bin\Windows64) required to run an image for 64 bit architecture compiled with armv8-aarch64.toolchain or can this be simulated with the OPV_SIM 32 bit version too?

BR Georg

Hi Georg,
Image for 64 bit architecture compiled with armv8-aarch64.toolchain can be run with either the 64bit OVPsim (you referred as OVP_SIM) or the 32bit OVPsim.
The 32/64 bit of OVPsim refers to the host machine's native processor bit width. That's orthogonal to the machine (in your case a 64bit Cortex A57) being simulated.
Regards,
Manny
